My Story

I recently graduated from Texas Woman’s University, majoring in Family and Consumer Science Education. I enjoy the nature of this field because I feel it is applicable to every student in their everyday life. I am looking for an area school district where I can be a valuable member of the Career and Technology Department.
I spent several years in the US Army where I taught nutrition classes for our soldiers. Our department was also tasked with providing the proper diets for the patients of Bassett Army Community Hospital. I have worked in several area WIC clinics helping parents see the positive benefits of proper nutrition for infants and children. In both of these fields I was able to develop a deep appreciation for diverse populations.
My goal is to become a highly qualified teacher but beyond just meeting the standards I believe every child deserves an adult in their life who sees the amazing potential they hold inside. I look forward to guiding my students through discovering who they are and who they are capable of becoming.
